Chemical Romance: Can’t Escape This Clip from ‘Hanna’

I saw Hanna earlier this week and not only did Joe Wright (Pride and Prejudice, Atonement) surprise me with his ability to craft an action thriller (and one that fits in perfectly at Focus Features), but he found all the right talent for the film. This includes Saoirse Ronan just as much as the film’s composers, The Chemical Brothers.

I haven’t listened to the score on its own yet, but inside the film it is just as electrifying as it is in the trailer, and the clip below gives you a tiny taste of what it’s like in the film.

The clip is the tail end of a much longer scene, a scene that simply had me awe struck due to its marriage of music, action and silent performance. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the location for this scene is the same one used in Karyn Kusama’s Aeon Flux (click here for a comparison pic). The song in the clip can be found on the soundtrack as “Escape Wavefold”. I’ve added the full song just above if you’d like to listen to the whole thing. The first 45 seconds are a little “screechy,” but then it gets going. “Container Park” is another great track and is the one you’ve most likely heard in the trailer.

Have a look at the clip below and stay tuned, Bill spoke with Wright and Ronan recently and I’ll be posting that piece on Monday. I also just added 19 pics from the film which you can find here as well as two other clips.
