Word Has It ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ is Quite Good

From what I’ve been hearing Lionsgate’s The Lincoln Lawyer starring Matthew McConaughey is quite good. I’ve heard/read this from several people so it isn’t just a one off comment and it doesn’t surprise me considering McConaughey has had some satisfying serious films and the best of the bunch, in my opinion, is A Time to Kill, which I personally love.

Someone I trust wrote in saying, “I thought The Lincoln Lawyer was a pretty decent legal thriller, by the way. It certainly had its flaws, but I like McConaughey in that type of role and it had some really effective twists and turns. It felt like ages since a movie like that had been released.

The film is based on the Michael Connelly novel of the same name and features McConaughey as a defense attorney that operates out of the back of his Lincoln Continental. Ultimately he lands a big case defending a Beverly Hills playboy (Ryan Phillippe) accused of murder, which is when things get all twisty and thrilling.

I don’t see the film until next Monday and the vibe I’m getting has me excited to see it. I thought McConaughey was great in A Time to Kill and if he can recapture that kind of performance and director Brad Furman can keep the story together we may have a bit of a solid March surprise on our hands.

The Lincoln Lawyer hits theaters on March 18 and I was just sent the following clip from the film and added six new images to the gallery right here. I also posted a new TV spot above if you’re interested. Give ’em a watch and let me know what you think.
