Trailer for the Long-Delayed ‘Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil’

I can’t remember exactly, but I think this film was originally ready to hit theaters about two years ago, but has been delayed. Personally I didn’t find anything all that great about the original Hoodwinked, which was released back in 2005 and made $51 million domestically and over $110 million worldwide, but I guess that was enough to bring together Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil, which is currently slated for an April 29 release.

The film features voice work from Hayden Panettiere, Glenn Close, Patrick Warburton, David Ogden Stiers, Andy Dick, Martin Short, Joan Cusack, David Alan Grier, Amy Poehler and Bill Hader. This time around a teen Red Riding Hood will be training in a distant land with a mysterious, covert group called the Sister Hoods. When Red and the Wolf get called upon by Nick Flippers the head of the Happily Ever After Agency to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Grendel.

This film is such a low priority for the Weinstein’s they haven’t even added it to their publicity site so I have no idea what they are expecting. If anything it will add one more film to this year’s animated slate, which means one more film closer to get enough for five films to be nominated for the Best Animated Oscar. That’s something I guess.
