Twitch delivers the following two posters for [REC] Genesis and [REC] Apocalypse, the third and fourth films that will mark the completion of the [REC] series from franchise helmers Paco Plaza and Jaume Balaguero. Plaza will direct Genesis, currently expected to arrive Fall 2011 and will center on the origin of the original infection that caused humans to turn into zombies. Balaguero will direct Apocalypse, which is expected one year later and will end the [REC] saga with the pandemic spreading to unknown proportions.
For those not in the know, [REC] was the film Screen Gems remade into 2008’s Quarantine, and [REC] 2 was released just last year. You can read my review of the sequel here. It’s a fun horror franchise and I’m anxious to see where they take it in these sequels, even though I would prefer to see Plaza and Balaguero branch out and try something else instead of going the Takashi Shimizu and having a hard time abandoning their early success.
