Well, Date Night helmer Shawn Levy said he wanted to put together an ensemble of known actors for his romantic comedy starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell and it looks like he is pulling it off as The Hollywood Reporter notes Ray Liotta, Mila Kunis and Mark Ruffalo have joined the cast.
The film centers on Fey and Carell who play a married couple who find their routine date night becoming much more than just dinner and a movie. Liotta, Kunis and Ruffalo join a cast already made up of Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Taraji P. Henson, Jimmi Simpson, Common, Kristen Wiig and Leighton Meester.
Liotta will play Joe Miletto, whom Levy describes as a “villain of peace.” Kunis will play the low-rent criminal wife of Franco’s character. Ruffalo will play Wiig’s husband and Carell’s best friend. Previous reports breakdown the other roles as such:
- Mark Wahlberg: A successful and crazily buff securities expert who flirts with Fey’s character.
- James Franco: A not-too-bright conman and petty criminal.
- Leighton Meester: The couple’s babysitter.
- Taraji P. Henson: The one good cop who believes the couple is in danger.
- Common: A villain.
- Kristen Wiig: Fey’s character’s best friend.
Date Night began shooting last month and is set for a April 9, 2010 release. The script was written by Josh Klausner (Shrek the Fourth).
