IESB.net caught up with producers Frank Marshall and Tom Crowley on the red carpet at the Saturn Awards on Tuesday and asked them about the proposed fourth Jason Bourne film that was first mentioned back in February and then said not to be a guarantee in March.
When asked about the possibility of a fourth Jason Bourne film Marshall said, “Absolutely,” continuing, “Hopefully we will be shooting next summer for release in 2010.
“There was a fourth book written, but it was not by Mr. Ludlum. So we’re probably going to take our own direction and we’re working on what that storyline’s gonna be right now.”
A big selling point on The Bourne Ultimatum was that Bourne was returning home, back to America. When asked about the fourth film Marshall responded, “I think he’s headed down south. I think he’s headed to South America.”
They also talk a bit about Bourne vs. Bond in the video as well as the unlikely potential for a fifth Indiana Jones film and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. You can watch here.
