MUST BUYS
Despite what Domenic said in his review, Atonement is a must own DVD, or even HD DVD if you didn’t throw yours out the window. This is a beautiful film from every aspect and one I cannot wait to add to my collection. BUY IT AT AMAZON
If you own the first two seasons, or watched the third season of “Battlestar Galactica” on television then I don’t need to tell you to pick this one up. However, if you have yet to check out this series I can now safely say it is worth it. The third season ups the ante when it comes to mixing sci-fi and drama by taking real world issues and inserting them into a space drama that, even though it’s fantasy, actually makes a lot of sense when compared to the real world. THE REST
Even though everyone is making a big deal about the alternate ending, but it really isn’t anything more than a conversation starter. It isn’t exactly reason enough to buy a rather flawed film. I like I Am Legend. I may watch it again. But you can do that with a rental as well and save yourself some dough. Here’s my Blu-ray review for a little more of my opinion. BUY IT AT AMAZON
Mothers and daughters should pick this up to own, everyone else should go ahead and rent it and never return. I gave my reasons in my Blu-ray review, but to put it simply… Enchanted just doesn’t hold up to multiple viewings. For a similar opinion here is Domenic’s DVD review. BUY IT AT AMAZON
I asked for a review copy and was told it was coming as well as an interview with writer/director Richard Kelly. The disc never came, the interview never came, and quite frankly I can’t tell you if this is worth buying or not. I watched it once in theaters and actually took to it a little bit. Southland Tales is certainly interesting, but it may be too messy to actually buy. I wish I could tell you more, but I can’t. BUY IT AT AMAZON
I watched this once. I have the screener but haven’t been able to bring myself to endure it again. You see, Revolver isn’t as bad as word-of-mouth made it out to be, but it isn’t good. Actually I am not sure if I could ever tell you what all is going on. Film aficianados may enjoy giving it a peek. It certainly is interesting, even if the twist sort of sucks. BUY IT AT AMAZON
The Seeker can now join Eragon in Fox’s epic fantasy franchise failures. This movie isn’t awful, but it isn’t worth watching more than once… if that. BUY IT AT AMAZON
