UPDATE: Until now I had not seen where Paddy Considine reveals that Jackie Earle Haley has been offered the role of Rorschach in Watchmen, but I have now received this link to the forums on Considine’s site where he says, “Alas, WATCHMEN will not be mine. They have gone out to Jackie Earle Haley. That’s news folks!” So I guess we now haev proof, or at least a link.
Perhaps I am blind, but ComingSoon and CHUD are already reporting a story that actor Paddy Considine‘s fan site paddyconsidine.co.uk is saying that Considine was in the running for the role of Rorschach in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, but now an offer has gone out to Jackie Earle Haley for the role.
So, I see this news and then look for proof. Heading on over to said fan site I begin searching for where this is said and find nothing. Then I search again, and again, and again… Needless to say I don’t see anything other than the following:
There are well informed rumours circulating the internet that Paddy Considine have been shortlisted to play the role of, the antihero Rorsharch in, director Zack Snyder’s (300,Dawn of the Dead) adaptation of the classic, epic D.C comics graphic novel; ‘Watchmen’.
So what’s the real story? CHUD is already taking credit for the casting saying that they suggested Haley for the role. Maybe they should get into casting movies now.
As for this story, if you can find the proof on that site let me know, until then I have no idea what to make of this story other than it is completely fabricated.
