Hollywood is such a messed up place that asking why is almost just as dumb as some of the decisions out there. The latest head scratcher finds Jessica Simpson once again in front of the camera, and this time for Steve Miner.
The film is Major Movie Star which is an obvious oxy-moron. The story centers on a pampered star who decides to enlist in the Marines to win approval from a producer and a studio who considers her unsuitable for an upcoming military-themed pic. Upon arriving at Camp Pendleton, she realizes she’s made a mistake but decides to persist so she won’t let her country down.
So Jessica Simpson is going to enlist in the Marines? Yeah, she doesn’t want to let her country down, but she wants to offend all of us instead. Selling out to pub Pizza Hut pizza was about as far as her acting career should have gone and yet we continue to give her chances.
People in the audience, do everyone a favor, don’t see this movie, buy it or even look at it. As a group we can stop the madness.
Shooting starts next month in Louisiana.
