‘Transformers’ Moves to July 3rd

I am slowly getting tired of all this posturing by studios to try and make their films seem to make more money by moving the release dates around. Since the release of Spider-Man 3 and its massive opening day success Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and License to Wed have all moved their release dates to one day earlier and now Paramount is joining in on the fun.

Today we received word from the studio that Paramount is moving Transformers off of its July 4th holiday release to July 3rd. The only thing the move is likely to do is cut into Fox’s box-office take of Live Free or Die Hard, which opens on June 27, but if history tells us anything after opening weekend it doesn’t really matter. Just pump the DVD out three months later and nothing is special anymore.

Moving those release dates is fun. Yay!
