‘Potter 6’ Filming Talk Already?

The best Scottish online newspaper in the world, Scotland on Sunday, is reporting that Warner Bros has sent an executive to the cliffs and caves in Scotland as the scout locations to shoot Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The site reports that the scout included Cape Wrath and also a sea cave close to the Whaligoe Steps near Wick, and has been in talks over filming in the north.

The producers are interested in using the caves and cliffs as part of the dramatic climax of the new film – the sixth in the series – in which the heroes wind their way along a sea-lashed coastline in search of the soul of the evil Lord Voldemort.

The exact locations that were looked at were Smoo Cave near Durness, Clo Mor near Cape Wrath, the arches under Cape Wrath, Stac Clo Kearvaig and the cave at the Whaligoe Steps. For a description of each and the rest of the article click here.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is set for a November 21, 2008 while Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix gets ready to hit theaters on July 13.
