Once is described as a modern day musical, but you really need to call it a musical drama because the music is just a means to tell the story, it is necessary to this story and it is FANTASTIC!
Fox Searchlight has just sent over a new music video from the film, which now gives us two (both featured below). While these are two of the best songs from the movie, the best is still not readily available online other than on the official site. The song is called “If You Want Me” by one of the film’s stars Marketa Irglova and if you fast forward one on the main site you can give it a listen. The official soundtrack will be available on May 22 and you can preorder it right here. I will have a soundtrack review in the coming weeks as well as an interview feature with both of the film’s stars and writer/director John Carney.
