Becker and Jordan Tap Directing Gigs

Variety has posted a pair of directing announcement articles and we’ll start with Neil Jordan who is set to adapt and direct the Warner Bros. thriller Heart-Shaped Box based on the book of the same name by writer Joe Hill, the son of horror fiction maven Stephen King.

The storyline revolves around an aging rock star with a penchant for the macabre. He can’t refuse an offer to buy a suit on eBay that’s said to contain a ghost. After the suit arrives, he begins to realize that while he wants the ghost gone, the ghost wants him dead.

Gotta be honest, sounds stupid.

The other news is in regards to Wild Hogs helmer Walt Becker as he will direct Link for Disney.

Link is an action adventure comedy based on a Becker novel published in 1998 concerning a paleontologist and maverick scientist who go in search of the missing link.

The other news in the article says that there just might be a Wild Hogs sequel as Disney is currently hashing out deals with Becker and stars John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy with original screenwriter Brad Copeland already penning the script.

Becker’s next project however will be Old Dogs with Robin Williams currently in negotiations to join Travolta in that one.
