Schnabel to Direct Myers in ‘Loe Guru’

I don’t know about you, but after watching the trailer for Shrek the Third I really think that franchise has run its course and DreamWorks has already talked about a Shrek 4. I guess the little kids will see it, but that doesn’t mean it is good. I say this only because Mike Myers stars as the voice of Shrek and it has been 5 years since we actually saw Myers’ face sans make-up and sans green ogre. So, what it is it going to be like when we see him in the Paramount Pictures comedy The Love Guru in which he will star as an advice-dispensing Indian Guru Pitka for director Marco Schnabel?

Myers penned the script with Graham Gordy and the story takes up as the eccentric guru is called in to solve a couple’s romantic troubles.

Myers seems very serious about the film as he has been quietly practicing and honing the character of Pitka through a series of stages shows in New York, appearing in an all-white robe and sporting a fake nose and beard.

The untitled feature is currently eyeing a 2008 release.
