Halle Berry and Billy Bob Together Again

For anyone that saw the famed sex scene from Monster’s Ball don’t expect much of the same here, but who really knows maybe Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry have some unfinished business as they have both joined the cast of Tulia.

The Carl Franklin directed drama is an adaptation of the Nate Blakeslee book “Tulia: Race, Cocaine, and Corruption in a Small Texas Town” and is about an ACLU lawyer’s efforts to expose a corrupt and racially motivated rash of drug convictions in rural Tulia, Texas, in 1999.

Lionsgate will distribute the pic which begins shooting April 30 in and around New Orleans. Karen Croner penned the script and Franklin did a rewrite.

Another tidbit that came out of the Variety story is that Thornton will be reteaming with Astronaut Farmer writer/directors Mike and Mark Polish for an attractive sounding film called Maure. Yeah, that is sure to fly and will likely get mass media marketing appeal. Pshaw. Maybe it will earn even less than the $9.4 million Astronaut has pulled at the box. Yay!
