Production Weekly is reporting that super hottie Kristen Bell is set to play the title role of the romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall alongside Jason Segel who also wrote the screenplay. She is also attaced to co-star with William H. Macy in Renji Philip’s indie drama Antique.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall will be directed by Nick Stoller as he makes his feature film directing debut. The story centers on Peter after a devastating break-up with his girlfriend TV sitcom star Sarah Marshall (Bell). Heartbroken and depressed he heads to Hawaii, for a little vacation to try his best to forget every detail of his relationship with Sarah. But love laughs at Peter, because Sarah is vacationing in the same exclusive resort as Peter, along with her new boyfriend.
Antique follows the intersecting lives of eight residents in Echo Park, as they all search for the strength to break free from the pains of their past. Bell would play Claire, a young girl who after befriending a homeless man (Macy) learns the only way to improve her life is to leave the people who have been holding her back. The ensemble also includes Claire’s self-destructive best friend, Samantha (Rachael Leigh Cook); Claire’s alcoholic mother (Lolita Davidovich); her drug dealing boyfriend, Danny (Kevin Zeegers) and Danny’s grieving mom (Anne Archer).
There is no word on when production on Antiwue will begin, but Forgetting Sarah Marshall is scheduled to film mid-April on location at the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii and Los Angeles during Bell’s eight week hiatus from “Veronica Mars.â€
