Clooney and Blanchett Voicing ‘Fantastic Fox’

It is always interesting when The Hollywood Reporter and Variety announce actors are “in talks” or “in negotiations” to star in a film, of course this is to say “negotiations” and “talks” could fall through, but most of the time once the news hits the trades you can pretty much take it to the bank. The latest group added to the “talking” list are George Clooney and Cate Blanchett who are in negotiations/talk to voice the lead characters in Wes Anderson‘s The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

The stop-motion film will be Anderson’s first outing into animation and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox. Anderson is currently working on The Darjeeling Limited and will movie to Fox next.

The film is based on the Roald Dahl book telling the story of a crafty fox who finds himself and his family targeted for death by the three dumb, pug-ugly farmers who tire of sharing their chickens with the critter. Clooney would voice Mr. Fox, while Blanchett would voice his wife.
