Arkin Can’t Get Out of the ‘Sunshine’

Oscar nominated Alan Arkin is set to star in Sunshine Cleaning for director Christine Jeffs. The independent feature is a character piece written by Megan Holley about Rose Lorkowski, tired and frustrated by her job cleaning other people’s homes, anxious to earn more money to send her eight year-old son Oscar to private school, Rose goes into business with her unreliable sister Norah doing biohazard removal and crime scene clean up. In the process of their new business, the sisters come to terms with the messiness of their own lives and begin to move beyond it.

Starring alonside Arkin will be Amy Adams, Emily Blunt and Clifton Collins Jr. with production scheduled to start in and around Albuquerque next week.

Arkin was recently nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2007 Oscars for his performance in Little Miss Sunshine.
