‘Spider-Man 4’ for Koepp?

Let’s see… David Koepp just wrote the script that finally got greenlit for Indiana Jones IV, and to his credit he can also refer to such films as War of the Worlds, Carlito’s Way and the first two Jurassic Park films. Well, it looks like he just might revisit one of the franchises he helped create… Koepp penned the script for the much loved 2002 picture Spider-Man and ComingSoon is reporting that a fourth film in the franchise is pretty much guaranteed and Koepp is being eyed as the writer.

The article at ComingSoon claims an anonymous source, but the word is that the studio is really excited about Spider-Man 3 after having seen a first cut of the movie. Add to that the phenomenal reaction to the screenings of footage at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago and the momentum leading up to this point from last summer’s Comic-Con, which have sparked the studio to approach Koepp about penning the fourth film’s screenplay.

There is one statement in the article that is sure to get fanboys excited:

Koepp is not signed yet, but the studio is definitely moving forward with another installment.

The site also recently spoke with Spider-Man 3 producer Grant Curtis who, when asked about the possibility of four villains said the movie involves mostly Sandman, New Goblin and Venom. The black suit is often referred to as a fourth villain, but it’s more Spidey’s struggle within himself, which is, of course, a very big part of the story as well.

On a final not I should tell you that the Spider-Man 3 official site just got a makeover and you can check that out right here, check out the new Goblen below! Spider-Man 3 hits theaters on May 4.
