Nevermind Blu-ray and HD DVD – Get This!

Wondering whether you should back Sony’s Blu-ray disc or Toshiba’s HD DVD? Well, you may not have to worry about it at all as Time Warner is set to unveil a new high-definition digital videodisc next week that could end the battle between two next-generation digital video player technologies, the company said on Thursday according to CNN.

The next-gen disc is being referred to as Total HD and will carry movies that can be played on high-definition DVD players that use technology backed by Sony’s Blu-ray format as well as players using the Toshiba-backed HD-DVD format. How sweet is that? Finally a company trying to solve the issue and make money at the same time. Brilliant!

Gotta say, when people ask me what they should do about Blu-ray and HD DVD, while I love the look and sound of HD DVD and have yet to experience Blu-ray I say, “Wait.” It takes time for things to improve and this is evidence of that. You don’t need C.S.I. to figure this one out. Warner has the right idea and I hope I get the chance to test it out.
