Thanks to RopeofSilicon user ‘chaitea’ we have been directed over to Fangoria’s site where they have up our first look at Lionsgate’s Stir of Echoes: The Dead Speak which stars Rob Lowe in the title role as the story revolves around a soldier who returns home from a tour of duty in Iraq only to be haunted by visions of the dead.
Kevin Bacon starred in the original and this one directed by Ernie Barbaresh is currently shooting in Toronto and Fangoria had a chance to speak with Barbaresh as he attempts to follow-up the original flick and hopefully make “Stir of Echoes” authore, Richard Matheson, happy in the process. Here is a snippet:
“This film is very much aligned with the original in both tone and style,” the filmmaker promises. “We’ve tried to take the themes, structure and especially the look of Koepp’s film and expand on them. Fans of both the movie and the novel will feel like they’re in very familiar territory, but we’ve added some dramatic weight that takes the movie to a completely different level.”
