The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Vanessa Redgrave, Claire Danes and Toni Collette are in negotiations to star in the big screen adaptation of Susan Minot’s best-selling novel “Evening” for Focus Features and director Lajos Koltai.
Evening centers on 65-year-old cancer patient Ann Grant Lord (Redgrave), who reflects on a weekend in her youth when she met the love of her life, as her two daughters, Ann (Danes) and Nina (Collette), try to come to terms with her impending death while struggling with their own issues.
Minot and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Cunningham (The Hours) adapted the story for the screen.
