With the success of X-Men 3 it is no surprise 20th Century Fox is setting off to fast track the much talked about Wolverine spin-off, but to release it in 2007 is quite fast I would say as The Hollywood Reporter carries an article insinuating just that.
The promise of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine headlining a spinoff of 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men” franchise next year was a highlight of Day 2 here at Cine Expo.
20th Century Fox promised the gathered exhibitors a Jackman starrer titled “Wolverine” for next year and Jackman himself sent the show a taped promise to back up the news.
What this would mean is a second year in a row with not two, but three major comic book adaptations in one year, and two of them from the same studio as Sony is set to release Spider-Man 3 on May 4, 2007 and Fox already has in hand Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer for release on June 15, 2007 and now the rumor of Wolverine.
Stay tuned as we hope to get more on this story in the near future.
