Paramount and Spielberg Developing New Sci-Fi

According to Variety, Paramount Pictures and Steven Spielberg will develop a space travel story about a group of explorers who travel through a worm hole and into another dimension with Spielberg hoping to direct the feature.

Apparently Spielberg is so interested in the story that he attended a Caltech workshop with Thorne and other scientists, taking with him his 89-year- old father, Arnold Spielberg, a retired engineer.

The picture is anchored in real science as it was derived from a treatment by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist who’s an expert on relativity. Thorne is most famous for his controversial theory that wormholes not only exist but can be accessed and used as portals for time travel.

The pic is not expected to be Spielberg’s next as it will take some time to come together, so we can most likely expect Indiana Jones IV or the Abraham Lincoln biopic he has been planning with Liam Neeson set to play Lincoln prior to any movement on the sci-fi pic.
