Andrews Joins the ‘Grind’

Naveen Andrews sure is the hot property this past week as he recently signed on to star in Neil Jordan’s The Brave One with Jodie Foster and we now learn that he has come aboard the unique ensemble picture Grind House for directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino and The Weinstein Co.

Each director is set to helm an individual 60-minute film, with faux trailers and ads in between. Andrews is joining Rodriguez’s portion of the pic, better known as “Planet Terror,” and he is said to be taking on the role of “a badass military scientist,” according to the producers. “Terror” already includes Freddy Rodriguez, Rose McGowan and Josh Brolin.

Tarantino’s portion of the film is being referred to as “Death Proof” and according to Variety it is yet to be cast even though Mickey Rourke and Zoe Bell are said to be the leads in the slasher.

Grind House currently has a release home of Easter 2007, but knowing the Weinsteins that is sure to change.
