Dakota Fanning, Robin Wright Penn and David Morse have signed on to star in an untitled indie feature for writer/director Deborah Kampmeier. Wright Penn is exec producing.
The storyline of the film is set in the South in 1961, revolves around a precocious girl who overcomes the negative effects of abuse by singing and dancing like Elvis.
Filming begins this week in Wilmington, N.C.
Wright Penn also starred in Kampmeier’s debut feature Virgin.
