I must have missed the announcement, but apparently Rachael Leigh Cook has a role in Warner Bros. upcoming Nancy Drew feature on top of today’s news that she is set to star opposite Sean Astin and Powers Boothe in the baseball drama The Final Season.
Final Season is a film based on true events, story revolves around the coach who led the high school baseball team in Norway, Iowa, to win 19 state championships in 23 years. Cook will play the love interest.
As for Nancy Drew, the film is expected to release early 2007 and follows follows Nancy (Emma Roberts) as she accompanies her father Carson (Tate Donovan) to Los Angeles on one of his business trips and stumbles across evidence about a long-unsolved crime involving the mysterious death of a beautiful movie star. Nancy’s resourcefulness and personal responsibility are put to the test when she finds herself in the middle of the fast-living, self-indulgent world of Hollywood.
