I am still yet to see White Noise from Universal Pictures, but I believe the film found a following on DVD after making north of $55 million at the box-office, as a matter of fact I overheard a Best Buy employee talking it up to one of his co-workers only two days ago. Why do I bring this up? Well, The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Serenity star Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff, a.k.a. “Battlestar Galactica‘s” Starbuck, are in negotiations to star in White Noise 2: The Light.
The announcement had no mention of Universal Pictures so I have no idea what the release plans would be, straight-to-DVD is what it smells like to me.
The script was penned by Matt Venne and Patrick Lussier is directing.
The sequel is said to follow a man, whose family is murdered, but he is brought back from the brink of death. The man realizes he has changed and can now identify those among the living who are about to die. When he tries to save people from their fate, he discovers there is a price to paid for interfering with the natural order.
2005’s White Noise was released in January of 2005 and starred Michael Keaton.
