There’s a chance at some point we may begin reporting the Hollywood ladies NOT in contention for Mission: Impossible 3. Production Weekly is reporting Michelle Monaghan and Jonathan Rhys-Myers are in negotiations to join Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames in the third Mission: Impossible, set to start filming in Caserta, Italy on July 18th. J.J. Abrams will direct the sequel penned by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The Royal Palace, known as the “Reggias’, will be used to recreate the interior of the Vatican for scenes contained in the MI-3 script.
Michelle Monaghan is featured in the upcoming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. You may remember Rhys-Meyers as the young coach from Bend it like Beckham. Whether Monaghan is taking the role vacated by Carrie-Anne Moss or Scarlett Johansson is still unknown, but in all likelihood it is the Moss role that has been filled.
It is, however, still up in the air as to whether the rumors surrounding Lindsay Lohan, Keri Russell and Katie Holmes hold any weight. Stay tuned.
