Not sure if this will be a stretch for the young actress or the defining moment in a young career, nevertheless ET Online is reporting that teen actress Lindsay Lohan is set to star in A Prairie Home Companion, a film from author and National Public Radio personality Garrison Keillor.
Keillor wrote the screenplay and will also star in the drama, which is described as a look behind-the-scenes at what goes on backstage at one of America’s most celebrated radio shows.
Not only will Lohan be stretching her range into a dramatic role she will also be opposite Meryl Streep, as her daughter, who is reported to be playing a country music siren, while Tom Waits and Lyle Lovett star as singing cowboys.
The next thing that ups this production value is that veteran helmer Robert Altman is directing, a director widely known for his Oscar-winning fare Gosford Park.
Production on Prairie is expected to begin in April.
