Moviehole.net has dropped some casting news for one of the sequels I am really looking forward to, Underworld 2. After I was initially let down by the film in the theater the DVD grew and grew on me, and now has me really looking forward to the second bout of werewolves vs. vampires.
As for the casting news Moviehole reports word that Sir Derek Jacobi has signed on and is speculated to be filling the shoes of the soon-to-rise Marcus.
Underworld 2 is expected to follow a similar story flow as to that of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where the first 10 or so minutes will delve into the dark ages where the battle for supremacy reigned between vampires and the Lycans moving into the modern era were the reign of Marcus is expected to dominate.
Also already signed on for the sequel are Kate Beckinsale, Scott Speedman and Bill Nighy along with Beckinsale’s hubby Len Wiseman back to direct.
A start date for the film has not yet been announced, but it is currently eyeing a November 23, 2005 release date. Click here for more from Moviehole.
