ComingSoon.net had a chance to speak with Harry Potter producer David Heyman and he gave them word that Steven Cloves, the mand behind the screenplays for the first four Potter films will be stepping down from the position adn will not be penning the script for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Michael Goldenberg has apparently stepped into Kloves shoes and will put pen to paper for Phoenix, which currently is looking at a January 2006 start date, with sites set on a Spring or Fall 2007 release.
Goldenberg was responsible for Jodie Foster’s Contact, the most recent Peter Pan adaptation for Universal and is currently scripting Where the Wild Things Are for director Spike Jonze.
