Paramount Pictures is ready to bring back the Italian Job gang as negotiations have already begun with Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Seth Green, Mos Def and Jason Statham for The Italian Job 2 with a goal to start lensing in late March for a November 2005 release. The first film’s director, F. Gary Gray, will be the first choice to helmhelm the sequel.
While the first film took place in Venice and Hollywood the sequel is expected to move to St. Tropez, Paris and the French Alps.
