Kushner Redrafting Spielberg’s Munich Tragedy

Steven Spielberg has tapped Tony Kushner, “Angels in America” playwright, to redraft his yet-to-be-titled film concerning the aftermath of the 1972 Munich Olympics, where members of the Israeli team were held hostage and slain by Palestinian extremists. The project has also moved its projected start date to June 2005.

The film currently stars Eric Bana in the lead role and Spielberg still seems optimistic, “We are enormously pleased that a writer of such talent has joined us in bringing this project to the screen,” he said in a statement.
