UPDATED (6/15): On May 26th ‘Felix’ wrote in to RopeofSilicon.com saying that the Sci Fi Channel is releasing a documentary titled “Portrait of a Filmmaker: M. Night Shyamalan.” It is scheduled for a simultaneous release to Shyamalan’s upcoming summer thriller, “The Village”.
In this article at Sci-Fi the email from ‘Felix’ is confirmed but ‘Felix’ also reports that though “My Architect” director Nathaniel Kahn is credited as director and writer, the ACTUAL writer and producer is Shyamalan himself!
The documentary is fictional, more of a mockumentary (ala “Blair Witch Project”). It incorporates the suspense aspects of “The Village”. It will be presented as a true documentary.
Now, we have just been sent an update to this and we will just have to wait and see what the truth actually is. Yahoo! is now reporting that Shyamalan quit on-screen, and an expected benign profile has become a three-hour expose, “The Buried Secret of M. Night Shyamalan.” Sci-Fi has scheduled a July 18 air date.
