Ed Zwick, recent director of The Last Samurai, has had his name pop up in association with the directorial spot recently vacated by Vadim Perelman for the DreamWorks/Universal co-production The Talisman.
The film based on the Stephen King/Peter Straub novel has a script written by The Ring screenwriter Ehren Kruger in which a 12-year-old boy who sets out on a quest in the real world and a parallel universe, known as the Territories, to find a talisman to save his mother, the queen of the Territories.
