Hey there 80s fans role up your suit jacket sleeves and fire up the Ferrari Crockett and Tubbs are back… almost.
Apparently Universal Pictures is making ready to bring back the popular 80s television series “Miami Vice” this time to the big screen and guess who is in line for the film.
As casting is just getting underway Universal has hopes to bring in Colin Farrell to star as Det. James “Sonny” Crockett and is in discussions with Jamie Foxx to star as Det. Ricardo Tubbs in the South Beach sizzler.
As for who will be at the helm, well original show exec producer, Michael Mann, director of this year’s hit film Collateral, is in talks to not only direct, but produce and write the script. Having Mann on the film would reteam him with one of his Collateral stars, Foxx, considering Foxx takes the role of Tubbs.
Along with the feature film announcement it looks like Universal will also be rolling out the original episodes of the show on DVD in the coming months.
