On top of that it includes songs by Oscar Peterson Trio + Terry Clark, Clifford Brown with the Max Roach Quintet and two inspired tracks by Medeski, Martin and Wood.
Alex Wurman who has also composed music for Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing, Hollywood Homicide among others. He takes a different approach to Criminal, combining funky drums, passionate organ, groove guitar and rhythmic effects to set the pace for this new film.
Set in Los Angeles over the course of 24 hours, Criminal follows a day in the life of two small-time bunco artists who stumble upon a foolproof, and extremely lucrative, scam. Directed by Gregory Jacobs, who has served as an assistant director to some of the most respected film directors in the entertainment industry, makes his directorial debut with Criminal, a telling of the Argentine film, Nueve Reinas (“Nine Queens”). Filled with off-beat characters, menacing situations, unexpected plot twists and an edgy, mordant humor, the film stars John C. Reilly, Diego Luna, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Mullan and Jonathan Tucker.
