Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, a Possibility?

When is enough “versus” enough? Freddy vs. Jason was a moderate success bring in a little over $82 mil at the box-office, and even though AVP celebrated a good opening weekend it is yet to see if bad reviews plus the release of The Exorcist prequel will deter its chances at becoming a success.

With that in mind THR is reporting that New Line Cinema is in negotiations with director-producer Sam Raimi for a project titled Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. In the proposed sequel, Freddy (the A Nightmare on Elm Street films) and Jason (the Friday the 13th pics) would go up against Ash, the cynical anti-hero survivor of Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy, which also includes Army of Darkness.

Raimi would not direct but his name is involved considering he owns the rights to the Evil Dead franchise. Apparently if the studio can’t get Raimi on board with the Ash idea, NL will be pushing for one way or another to get the two combatants on the big screen again.
