In an Entertainment Weekly exclusive Pierce Brosnan says that he is done with the James Bond franchise, ”Bond is another lifetime,” he says, ”behind me.”
With rumors running rampant around the web whether or not the star will return it seems we have our answer, despite the fact that some think this may also be a negotiation tactic. EW goes on to point out that Sean Connery quit the franchise for one film before being lured back for fistfulls of cash.
EW goes on to say that the 21st film in the Bond franchise is currently slated for a November 18, 2005 release and names being associated with the title role are the likes of Brit actors Clive Owen, Ioan Gruffudd, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Gerard Butler, Jude Law, and Ewan McGregor, as well as Aussies Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger, and Eric Bana.
Brosnan seems happy with his final film, Die Another Day, telling EW, ”We went out on a high,” he says, ”and I look back affectionately at that time and doing those four movies. But I’ve said all I gotta say on it.”
