IGN Film Force has been granted the pleasure of being the first site to preview images from the Trey Parker/Matt Stone (i.e. creators of “South Park”) comedy flick Team America: World Police, a feature film, starring wooden marionettes, a-la the old-school “Thunderbirds” TV show, which follows an elite special missions force aimed at ridding the world of global terrorism.
The pics can be found by clicking here, or by clicking the image of a puppet Osama below.
The IGN article goes on to quote Daily Variety as Matt Stone said, “I hate these new new Hollywood films that are CGI-driven. Trey and I loved that Thunderbirds series because of the artistry of the marionettes. It’s amazing that a studio would make a movie out of and take out the only thing that was about the series.”
Stone went on to say, “What we wanted was to do a send-up of these super important huge action movies that Jerry Bruckheimer makes.”
The film is currently set for an October 15th release date and will be released under the Paramount Pictures banner.
