CHAINSAW Prequel Cometh

New Line Cinema and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes have won the rights battle with Dimension Films and are prepping a prequel to their remake of The Texas Chainsaw Masscare with The Longest Yard screenwriter penning the script, who just happens to be the same guy who recently polished off Scott Kosar’s script for the upcoming remake of The Amityville Horror, also being produced by Bay’s Platinum Dunes and it was Turner’s idea for the prequel, which led Bay’s company to move forward with the new project.

New Line had to pay Dimension Films $3 million more than it expected to in order to keep the franchise in the studio fold, and the new film is apparently going to revolve around a group of sibling soldiers who cross paths with chainsaw-wielding lead character.
