United Kingdom news source DeHavilland is now reporting that Nicole Kidman is in talks to become the voice of The Chronicles of Narnia films.
It wasn’t too long ago that Kidman was seen near the New Zealand locations where Narnia is expected to be shot and her name began rumored with the role of the White Witch, which has been since filled by Tilda Swinton.
But it is now proving that Kidman’s visits may have not been all for not as she is being lined up to provide the voice of Narnia in the same way fellow Aussie Cate Blanchet did for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It is also rumored that along with the role Kidman is being offered £60 million deal according to the Daily Star- but will have to voice all seven films.
Yup, all seven, which means Disney is taking this very seriously, but this rumor should be considered just that, especially since NarniaWeb posted an article saying, “We’ve received word from Ernie Malik, the publicist for the film, and he assures us that any reports of Nicole Kidman being involved in the film are simply old rumors and that she will never be involved with the production.” So take this news for what it is, a rumor.
Nevertheless, as they head into production next month expect to hear a TON of leaks around the web to continue excitement around the project which is currently scheduled for a Christmas 2005 release.
