Why this is really a story I don’t know, but it does give racing fans and fans of the cast of Ocean’s 12 to check out some new photos of their favs over at jaguar-racing.com, and catch a bit of a teaser of what to expect from the upcoming flick.
Jaguar Formula 1 Communications made a press announcement today concerning the exclusive launch at the Monaco Grand Prix (22nd & 23rd May) when cast members of Ocean’s 12 will join other race fans in the stands. Among names attending and faces you will see over at jaguar-racing.com were Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and of course George Clooney.
If you are really wondering why this is all taking place the release goes on to say that imagery from the movie forms a central part of Jaguar Racing’s presence at Monaco, with branding unique in its scale and scope appearing across the entire team, from team shirts, drivers’ & mechanics’ overalls to the team’s pit-lane garage and the cars themselves. It is the first time a Hollywood film has built a significant relationship with a Formula One team to reach F1’s worldwide TV audience of over 400 million for the season’s most glamorous race.
Jerry Weintraub, producer of Ocean’s 12, said; “The Monaco Grand Prix is the highlight of the global racing calendar and “Ocean’s Twelve” will be one of the most exhilarating, thrilling and stylish films of the year. Formula One is the perfect audience for us, and Jaguar Racing the preferred partner.”
The Monaco F1 launch stems from an agreement between “Ocean’s Twelve” and Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin, all of which appear prominently in the film.
Joe Greenwell, Chairman and CEO, Jaguar and Land Rover, and Board Director, Jaguar Racing, said: “`Ocean’s Twelve’ oozes style, sophistication and luxury — qualities integral to the cars in the movie. We’re bringing together Hollywood’s most anticipated movie of the year, the biggest race in the F1 calendar and some of our most desirable cars — it’s an incredibly exciting mix.”
