New Blade movie rumored to focus on the character and his daughter
When Marvel Comics revealed their plans for the “All-New, All-Different Marvel,” a relaunch of their entire universe with brand new #1 issues, one of those included was a new Blade series that would star the Daywalker and his newly-created daughter. The series was originally set to debut this October but has since been delayed due to unforseen circumstances, or so we thought.
Bleeding Cool reports that the delay for Blade #1 was something that came from up the food chain at Marvel Entertainment, as the new series is being looked at to potentially be the blueprint for a new Blade film. Wesley Snipes has said as recently as this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that talks have happened about a potential return for him as the character, though nothing official has been reported yet.
Snipes starred as the character in three “Blade” movies, the first of which helped shepherd comic books and superheroes to the big screen. Combined, the three films brought in over $400 million at the global box office.
The upcoming comic book series, written by Tim Seeley with art by Logan Faerber, is officially described as follows:
“Fallon Grey is a sixteen year old girl from rural Oregon. Nominated for Prom Queen, Captain of the debate team, most popular girl in her class. But there is another side to Fallon. A feeling like there’s something more inside of her. When terror strikes her small town, she’ll find out just how right she was. As fearsome supernatural forces hunt Fallon, she’ll come face to face with something even more shocking than the monsters on her tail. Eric Brooks…Blade…her father?! And in each other, they’ll discover the purpose they’ve each been struggling to find.”
