D23 Expo 2015 reveals The Incredibles 2, Cars 3 and Toy Story 4 posters!
The D23 Expo 2015 is officially underway in Anaheim, California and the exhibit hall floor is packed with all sorts of surprises for Disney fans. Among the various displays is a booth promoting quite a few upcoming animated features from both Walt Disney Animation and Pixar. In the gallery viewer below, you can take a first look at The Incredibles 2, Cars 3 and Toy Story 4 posters! There’s also some displays tied to the upcoming Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, and the 2016 release, Moana, set to feature the voice of Dwayne Johnson!
The Incredibles 2 features the return of The Incredibles writer and director Brad Bird, while Cars 3 has yet to reveal who will be sitting behind the wheel.
The script for Toy Story 4 hails from actors-turned-screenwriters Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, who previously penned and starred in Celeste and Jesse Forever. They’re working from a story idea by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and Lee Unkrich which, as revealed earlier today, will tell a love story between Tom Hanks’ Woody and Annie Potts’ Bo Peep. It will be released in theaters on June 16, 2017 with Pixar’s Galyn Susman producing.
Finding Dory hits theaters June 17, 2016 and features returning favorites Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang, among others. Set in part along the California coastline, the story also welcomes a host of new characters, including a few who will prove to be a very important part of Dory’s life. Findng Nemo helmer Andrew Stanton returns to the directors chair for the animated film, which features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Willem Dafoe, Dominic West, Ty Burrell and Idris Elba.
Moana, meanwhile, is set in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania. There, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.
Finally, Zootopia introduces audiences to a modern mammal metropolis. Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.
The comedy-adventure is directed by Byron Howard (Tangled, Bolt) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph, “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”). Zootopia opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.
