Garret Dillahunt Joins John C. McGinley in Baseball Story Rounding Third

Baseball story Rounding Third adds Garret Dillahunt

Garret Dillahunt (No Country For Old Men, The Road, Winter’s Bone) has joined the already-announced John C. McGinley (“Scrubs”) as the two protagonists hit the Nashville set of Rounding Third, a tale of baseball and fatherhood described as “‘The Bad News Bears’ meets ‘The Odd Couple.'”

Robert Deaton and George Flanigen are making their feature film debut with the adaption of the Richard Dresser theatrical play of the same name. Oscar-winning producer Fred Roos serves as one of the executive producers of the film shooting at several locations in Nashville, Tennessee.

Rounding Third centers on the two lead actor’s characters that coach a little league baseball team in which McGinley’s character is the head coach and his son is a member. His win-at-all-costs attitude butts heads with his new assistant coach (Dillahunt), as they have very different philosophies about the game and in turn how to motivate the team.

“We feel so honored and excited to be shooting our first feature with such talent as John and Garrett,” says Robert Deaton and George Flanigen. “We feel we have assembled an incredible cast and crew of seasoned and lauded professionals to make our vision become the reality it is,” they continued.

Additional credits for the film include “Nashville’s” Joe Galante, Scott Borchetta, Clarence Spalding and Clint Higham as executive producers.

Dillahunt has a distinguished acting career on Broadway, as well as in film and television. He is well noted for his dual roles in the HBO series “Deadwood,” a 3-year stint on “E.R.” and numerous other television roles, including his most recent co-staring role on Fox TV’s “Raising Hope.”
