Syfy Announces Spring Programming Schedule

Syfy has today revealed their spring programming schedule, which includes premieres of the 13-part, epic mythological drama “Olympus” (April 2) and ghost-seeking unscripted series “Haunting: Australia” (March 24). The upcoming weeks also bring us new season returns of “Lost Girl” (April 17) and “Bitten” (April 17), and the original movie Lake Placid vs Anaconda (April 25)!

Premiering Tuesday, March 24 at 10pm ET/PT, “Haunting: Australia” is an eight-part unscripted series featuring six of the best Ghost Hunters in the world. Hailing from all corners of the globe, the “Haunting: Australia” Ghost Hunters join forces to investigate paranormal activity in Australia’s most haunted locations, traveling across the country unearthing ghostly evidence. Each of the experts offers a unique talent that strengthens their collective investigating methods. Together they take on terrifying ghosts in haunting and harsh environments that often hold violent histories still lingering in the form of paranormal presence. “Haunting: Australia” is a production of Flame Media.

Then, “Olympus” arrives Thursday, April 2 at 10pm ET/PT, taking viewers into the action-packed world of humans, Gods and monsters. Starring Matt Frewer (“Max Headroom,” “Orphan Black”), Sonita Henry (Star Trek, The Fifth Element), Cas Anvar (Argo, The Expanse) and Graham Shiels (Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World), the gripping series captures the dangerous courage of a few brave men and women who banished the Gods to the realm of the unconscious – a place they called the Underworld or the Kingdom of Hades.

The team behind “Olympus” includes writer Nick Willing (Tinman, Alice). The series is produced by Reunion Pictures and Olympus TV (London) Limited in association with Great Point Media.

On Friday, April 17, season two of the supernatural thriller “Bitten” arrives at 8:00pm ET/PT, kicking off with a special two hour premiere returning Laura Vandervoort as Elena, the world’s only female werewolf; Greyston Holt as Elena’s passionate partner Clay Danvers, and Greg Bryk as the Alpha Pack leader Jeremy Danvers. Beginning April 24, “Bitten” will air Fridays at 9PM.

Based on the “Women of the Otherworld” novels by #1 New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong, “Bitten’s” new 10-episode season introduces a coven of witches who turn to the Pack for support. Tammy Isbell plays the calm and level-headed Coven leader, Ruth Winterbourne; Tommie-Amber Pirie is cast as Ruth’s daughter, the outspoken spitfire, Paige Winterbourne; and Kiara Glasco stars as the young and impressionable, Savannah Levine. Returning to “Bitten” are Steve Lund as Nick Sorrentino, Michael Xavier as Dr. Logan Jonsen and Genelle Williams as Rachel Sutton.

“Bitten” is produced by No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment and Entertainment One (eOne) in association with Space and Bell Media, with the participation of Rogers Cable Network Fund and Cogeco Program Development Fund and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit.

That same night, April 17, “Lost Girl” returns at 10:00pm ET/PT. In the first eight episodes of the popular series’ fifth and final season, Bo (Anna Silk) is determined to do the impossible: drag her bestie out of the underworld. Convinced her elusive and undeniably evil father is responsible for luring Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) to her death, Bo will stop at nothing until she succeeds. But in the world of the Fae, nothing is ever as it seems — and the after-life is no exception.

Returning to the cast for Season 5 are stars Kris Holden-Ried as Light Fae shape-shifter Dyson, Zoie Palmer as human doctor Lauren, Rick Howland as Bo’s ancient and secretive grandfather Trick and Rachel Skarsten as Valkyrie warrior Tamsin. Returning guest stars include Paul Amos and Emmanuelle Vaugier.

“Lost Girl” was developed by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media and Showcase.

Finally, Lake Placid vs Anaconda premieres Saturday, April 25 at 9:00pm ET/PT. Killer crocodiles and giant anacondas clash in this thriller about corporate greed and science gone wrong, starring Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Yancy Butler (Kick Ass) and Corin Nemec (“Stargate SG-1”).

Lake Placid vs Anaconda is a production of UFO Films.
