If you’ve read Fifty Shades of Grey, there are likely some scenes and moments you are anticipating the most. The novel was a page-turner that kept you anticipating the next turn of events and the film will surely be no different. At the root of this sex-addled erotic fiction is the underlying romance novel that may result in some very happy couples for its Valentine’s Day release to theaters. The Hardware Store
Naïve little Anastasia Steele has worked at a family hardware store for the length of her college life in Seattle. It’s a quaint place that matches Anastasia’s personality. Yet when Christian Grey enters the scene, the small storefront takes on another feel entirely. Unsuspecting Anastasia is completely disarmed by his presence and has no idea of the ulterior motives.
The College Bar
After completing her final college exams, Anastasia joins her friends Kate and José for a celebratory round of drinks. Anastasia is stewing after a confusing gift following Christian’s rejection so she drunkenly calls him with questions. When Christian witnesses José refusing to take ‘no’ for an answer, Christian swoops in to rescue Anastasia. What started out as a night out with friends, turns into Ana waking up in an unexpected location.
The Elevator
The elevator is a confined space that holds a glorious amount of tension throughout the length of the film. This is where Anastasia and Christian first kiss, sending them into the throw of passion that the book emanates. If the glimpse from the trailer is providing us with anything, it’s clear that this scene will not disappoint in the slightest.
The Red Room of Pain
We’ve all pictured it in our minds, but it should go without saying that we’re dying to see, what Anastasia playfully calls, The Red Room of Pain. This is where Christian first exposes Anastasia to his alternative lifestyle – it’s where their romance takes on a new spin and where “vanilla” is cast to the side. This specific room is sure to be seen numerous times throughout the film and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Glider
To no surprise, Anastasia needs a little time to take things in and resorts to a trip to Georgia to visit her mom and stepdad. The entire trip takes on a different course of events. While in the midst of a deep conversation with her mom, Christian reveals that he’s flown in to surprise her. His unexpected arrival and wild bedroom antics aren’t the only tricks up Christian’s sleeve, though, as he decides to share his thrill of gliding with Anastasia.
The Toys
Christian’s toys are not to be left in the playroom. Throughout the film there will be various mentions of “twitchy palms,” but the real stars of the show are the numerous toys that Christian and Anastasia share. You can be sure that these particular items aren’t relegated to one specific scene. A blindfold and riding crop make their way into the trailer, but that is just a small taste of the goods we’re sure to see.
The film’s release is just around the corner and fans have been waiting patiently for its release. If the trailer is any indication, the flick is sure to induce some healthy heart palpitations.
