New Line has hired Laeta Kalogridis to do a major overhaul of its Darksiders vampire tale, says Variety.
The story revolves around an FBI agent who teams up with a bunch of bloodsuckers to catch an arms trader with biochemical weapons.
Once Kalogridis finishes her rewrite, the project will go back out to directors. New Line acquired the spec by Tom S. Parker and Jim Jennewein in 2001.
Kalogridis is writer-executive producer on NBC’s “Bionic Woman.” She has two projects in the works for James Cameron at Fox: The Dive and the adaptation of the Battle Angel graphic novel. She also has rewrite credits including Wonder Woman and The Lone Ranger.
